In the Italian charcuterie scene, in fact, Golfetta stands out for its history and its characteristic taste, confirming itself year after year as the best-selling salami in Italy (Source: Circana – Total Italy Cured Meats PV+PI in IPER+Super+SS/SPT, AT Dec2024). Born with the aim of offering a delicious cured meat, but with an eye to lightness, in 1990 Golfetta won the innovation Oscar at Cibus, a reference event for the Made in Italy agri-food sector.

Prepared from selected lean pork cuts, it is characterized by its iconic teardrop shape and its casing in cotton cloth, which enhances its aging and unique taste. Today, as then, Golfetta always remains current, a classic that continues to win over generations, demonstrating that innovating does not mean giving up one’s identity.

A new, lighter recipe

What makes Golfetta truly original is its perfect balance between lightness and taste. Always appreciated for its low fat content – about 60% less than Salame Milano (source CREA 2019) – in 2023 Golfetta took a further step towards well-being, thanks to the introduction of a new recipe. The goal? To make a great classic even lighter.

Today Golfetta is:

  • Lactose and milk-free, for a lighter and more inclusive recipe.
  • With 40% less sodium than Milano salami (Source CREA 2019), a balance that combines well-being and goodness.

This new version confirms the quality and taste of all time, the result of constant research and development work that has made it possible to reduce the amount of sodium without compromising the identity of the product, preserving its unique and recognizable flavour. The result is a more balanced cured meat, designed for those who choose a conscious diet every day, in Italy and in the rest of the world.

Such a significant reduction in sodium content is particularly significant when considering the growing number of scientific studies that highlight the importance of limiting daily salt intake, especially for preventive purposes. Already during 2022, several international university studies had strengthened this thesis, underlining the benefits of a low-sodium diet for cardiovascular health and the general well-being of our body.
